Jonathan Saunders and Richard Nicoll, two well-known names which regularly graced London Collections: Men calender, are absent this season. Both designers have chosen not to stage an on-schedule catwalk show or presentation at the men's fashion week, which officially begins today, and runs until Monday, January 12.
Saunders does plan on showing his collection, but rather than hosting an elaborate show, instead his collection will be presented in private during one-on-one appointments, "due to time commitments and the requirements for pre-fall and fall women's collections," according to WWD. He added that he remains thankful and grateful to the British Fashion Council for its "ongoing support and collaboration".
Nicoll on the other hand, has decided to put his men's wear collection on pause whilst he turns his attention to other aspects of his label, according to a spokeswoman.
