Following AltaRoma’s cancellation of its upcoming Rome Couture Week, the Italian organisation has made an unexpected u-turn and sent an e-vite to press and buyers inviting them to the shows, confirming that it will now go ahead with its showcase from January 31 to February 2.

In December, the Italian organisation stated that it couldn’t afford to put on both its fashion weeks this year due to a “funding deficit”, and that it had decided to place all funds behind the summer edition, running from July 11 to 15.

No official word has been given by AltaRoma about the turnaround, however, local media reports in Italy are suggesting that Rome’s municipality has agreed to allocate 300,000 euros to finance the fashion week.
